Isn't it amazing how our minds can go on without us, how easily our attention is pulled from one annoying thought to another? What causes this disturbance and how can we take control of our own ship. It is as though we head out for Hawaii and end up in China. No offense to anyone who lives in China but the point is that wasn't our plan. There is a great quote that says "Finding peace lies not in the target but in the shooter." How do we resist the pull of obsessive or fearful thoughts? Who is really in charge? Why do some thoughts pull us off center? Who is minding the mind?
